All cattle should be in an environment with fresh air and lighting bright enough to allow for inspection of calves and pen conditions.
Which animals to assess:
Evaluate buildings with sides where hygiene is scored
How to assess:
Barns must provide proper ventilation such that odors, dust, and/or noxious gas (ammonia) are not evident.
There is currently no repeatability test for this measure.
